Contracts, Collaboration and Influence on the Ability to Innovate
Collaboration and Contracting with Partners in Large Agile Development - Contracts, Collaboration and Influence on the Ability to Innovate
At the Manage Agile 2019 - Berlin I gave the following presentation:
Summary
Collaboration and contract design with partners in large agile development environments is both complex and surprising.
Collaboration is one of the key issues in agile software development. As product development grows and more and more teams are added, a point is passed where the consideration of involving partners is needed. These partners can come from other corners of the company or from outside - a special aspect applies when the partner is significantly economically involved. What has to be considered when designing the collaboration model, when designing the workflows and contracts, which interactions arise for product development, …
The design of the employment and corporate law relationship is a key to successful cooperation. It often decides whether pure manpower or thinking people are involved. The interplay of contracts, the contribution of human capacity, and what effects this has on the product development and innovation processes - innovation capability - is addressed as well as concrete indications of what is uncritical or critical according to German labor and company law.
Core contents of the lecture
- Recognition of indications of criticality of different working models
- Reference to design freedom
- Idea of an evaluation of different agile scaling models regarding the legal integration
